Amelle, one of our Pflugerville ISD alumni from Pflugerville High School, delivered a heartfelt speech at our first annual graduation last May. She shared how much of an impact the Code2college volunteers made on her life – in particular, Chris from Silicon Labs.
“I never thought that I could call myself a coder . . .” Amelle shared. But there she stood after spending 60 hours learning Python, SQL and several other technologies, as well as 40 hours developing her professional skills and STEM industry exposure.
This past week, Amelle wrapped up a paid, software engineering internship at BuildFax, an Austin-based property data company.
