One of our team members, Hannah, had the opportunity to sit down with Catherine and talk about why she started this company, and what she hopes to accomplish:
HH: So what was it that drew you to gift boxes and gift-giving?
CC: That’s a good question! I really enjoy working with the clients and helping them put special things together. I get to wear a lot of hats since I am the owner – accounting, marketing, packaging and delivery, so it is never boring. Since I do the local Austin gift boxes, I get to work with and develop relationships with local artists and businesses, and that is something that is really special.
HH: That’s wonderful! I love how you have found a way to tie together and support so many local businesses in your boxes.
CC: Yeah, it really is great because we work with the whole community to truly build something for everybody!
HH: So what is one thing you wish more people knew about Artisan Gift Boxes?
CC: That more people knew about us! Everytime that someone finds me, they always say “wow, I wish I knew about this sooner.” Beyond that though, we really have a box for every occasion.
HH: What are some of your favorites?
CC: Well our Austin and our Texas gift boxes are definitely the most popular, especially around the holidays! But we have fun boxes for closing business deals, a new home or congratulations or birthdays too. I also work with my clients to customize their gift boxes if they want to include a specific item.
HH: That’s fantastic! And I know with the winter holidays coming up, a lot of people are looking for meaningful gifts but just don’t know where to start – any recommendations?
CC: Yeah! We have some really exciting stuff this year – perfect for the men and women who are difficult to shop for in your life. A lot of really nice candles and spa packages, delicious curated snack boxes – I mean who doesn’t like sweet and salty snack?
HH: Exactly!
CC: But really, I am very picky about what I put in my boxes. I don’t put anything in them that I wouldn’t love to receive myself.
HH: Well just looking through your website I already have ideas about gift boxes that would be perfect for people in my life. What would you say your favorite part about your work is?
CC: I love hearing the client feedback, of people getting their boxes and hearing “oh my goodness it made my day!” I really put my heart into them, so it brings me a lot of joy when people are happy with their boxes.
