2022 Diversity in STEM Report
2022 in Review
Code2College continues to excel at leveraging community resources and partnerships to drive life-changing outcomes for our students. Since last year, we reengaged past volunteers, inspired new ones to support our efforts and kicked off our first in-person (and largest) event post-pandemic.
We launched programs in three new cities, built a comprehensive support system to serve college-going, military and employed program alumni and deployed tens of thousands more in competitive college scholarship dollars.
Intern Spotlight
In 2019, Carolina joined Code2College with little to no coding experience.
Since then, she has completed three Software Engineering internships with Atlassian and is now an undergraduate at Texas A&M University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Computing with a focus in Psychology and Data Engineering.
Carolina is one of over 400 Code2College high school students who have been placed into paid, technical internships through our program.
Visionary Partner Reflection
Having hosted over 50 of our high school interns since 2020, Atlassian continues to be a leader in innovative talent development and acquisition.
Atlassian is one of dozens of Code2College partners ranging in company size, sector and region that invest in local communities to develop homegrown, diverse technical talent.
Volunteer Reflection
“Google Austin is a proud corporate partner to Code2College. In Code2College, we see an organization that is committed to many of our shared ideals. Together, we aim to build technology and foster communities that are both representative and accessible for everyone.”
Google has been a Code2College volunteer since 2017. In 2022, they set the record for the most volunteer hours logged, at 537.
